Budding medicos steal question-papers from IGGMC using modus operandi of 3 Idiots

Taking a cue from ‘3 Idiots’ in which Aamir Khan and his friends break open the lock of Dean’s Chamber to steal the question papers, some miscreants on Thursday stole the question-papers from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC).
The unidentified students (it is strongly believed that they must be medical students as they were the only one interested in stealing the papers before exam), entered in library through terrace of newly constructed multi-utility building. The question-papers were kept in the strong room located on the ground floor. Giving a slip to security personnel, these unidentified miscreants used duplicate keys to enter the strong room (another similarity with how Amir Khan and his friends gain access to Dean Veeru Sahastrabuddhe’s chamber).
Inside the strong room, there was second layer of security in form of a locked almirah. But, somehow, the thieves opened the lock of almirah, took out the packet of question papers of various subjects, cut the packet with the help of scalpel like a skilled surgeon, removed the question papers and fled away without leaving a trace. Ironically, other valuable material was not even touched, leaving no doubt about real intention of thieves.
The shocking and disturbing incident was noticed by Dr Amit Agrawal, Centre in-charge, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) on Thursday morning when he approached strong room to review the sitting arrangement. The door of the hall was wide open, the sealed lock of the strong room was missing, the packet of the question papers was found to be tampered with, the papers were lying scattered.
Astonished by this audacious action, Dr Agrawal quickly alerted Dr Prakash Wakode, Dean of IGGMC. Shocked beyond belief, he immediately swung into action and called police and also informed MUHS office at Nashik. Dr Kishor Taori being a Management Council member was entrusted with the responsibility of taking stock and report to MUHS. When he reached the spot, the preliminary inquiry was already conducted and a detailed report was ready.
Dr Taori suggested the college to have good and strong almirah with proper locking system and the examination-related material should be kept only in a room where CCTV cameras are installed. Dr Wakode agreed to this suggestion. The disgraceful act by unidentified students has disturbed all teaching faculty and former students of IGGCMH who were unable to digest this criminal act.
The thieves have stolen papers of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to be held on June 2, General Surgery Paper-I and II scheduled on May 30 and 31 respectively, Paediatrics on June 5, Medicine on May 28 and 27. The authorities have decided to change the question-papers and use other sets or in all probability come out with a new paper to rule out any possibility of giving undue advantage to students who stole the papers and passed the contents to others.
Authorities have decided to take a swift and stern action against culprits who tried to make mockery of examination system and took advantage of lax security at IGGMC library where nobody ever thought that some students would steal question-papers.
Some experts opined that those students get admissions in Government Medical Colleges purely on merit basis. They get the education in subsidised rate. Considering these aspects they should not have indulged in such thefts, said experts. If the students are found involved in this act then it would show how the quality of medical education quality getting degraded.
