Most of the students who study technical education are not employable. The reason, industry-institute linkage is not properly worked out. Understanding this problem, Director of Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) Dr Pramod Naik has decided to impart industry training to teachers. Dr Naik disclosed this decision while talking to The Hitavada. He was in Nagpur to attend national workshop on quality framework by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) hosted by Jhulelal Institute of Technology (JIT).
Dr Naik said, “Nowadays the talk of industry-institute linkage is going on. Unfortunately the awarness about industry teaching is lacking among teachers. Considering this, we have decided that first we should impart industry training to teachers. The teachers with trained skills can pass on the same to their students.”
Second important decision Dr Naik has taken about conducting on-line examinations. “We received lot of complaints about the examination. Students alleged that the examinations have lot many irregularities. The valuation is not proper. The results have so many loopholes. So we have decided to conduct examination on-line. On experimental basis we will be taking Environmental Science, Environmental Studies and Textiles subjects, the first year examinations of which we conducted on-line with great success,” said Dr Naik.
“We do not get teachers for valuation as the number is less. Because of which the valuation affects. The assessment has lot of complaints, especially in these three subjects, the problem is serious. The on-line valuation will have the answer,” Dr Naik said firmly.
