‘Aarohi’ has larger perspective. It is not limited to Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT). Its scope is much wider. It is not only an All India Youth Cultural Festival but also it teaches these volunteer students to groom their personalities.
Pratik Murkute, President of Aarohi who got elected unanimously said, “The hierarchy in the system is fixed. The duties of students of every year are fixed and everybody act accordingly. When we were in first year, our seniors used to shout on us now we are on the other side of the table.”
Whatever the things take place but one thing is common where Aarohi is running on one principle is that they donate the money of cultural night to any good organisation which is doing good work for the society. Aarohi came into existence in 1988 and 2013 is the silver jubilee year.
Pratik said that the team Aarohi expects 500 students from all over India as a participants in the competititions that include rock band contest, debate competition, personality contest, singing, dance etc.
Saurabh Chahande is Vice-President said that Aarohi team does not focus only on cultural aspect, they go for social commitment.
According to Arjun Vithalkar, Aarohi is not merely college activity, it is a family and students get emotionally attached to it.
Why Aarohi is different and has maintained uniqueness amongst all college fest? Ashish Kulkarni, Vice-President said, “We have less time as far as our studies are concerned. But we do better planning, time management, use of technology and try to reach to large number of students through facebook and all. The preparation of Aarohi begins two months before the actual event and it bears the fruits. The result is that Aarohi has earned its name throught the country.”
All these Aarohi stalwarts have one opinion and it was that this particular event teaches them lot of things including time management without ignoring study, handling people, soft skill development, multitasking, how to talk with the people etc.
