RTMNU to modify revaluation rules, to emphasize on quick results

Students to get scanned copies of answersheets on their mail ids

By Vikas Vaidya

Against the backdrop of blamegame in engineering faculty, improper valuation, postponement of examinations, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has decided to modify revaluation rules to get quick results and to avoid such unplesant episodes in future.
There was heated discussion and arguments from students organisations on this issue. Considering the importance and sensitivity of this aspect, university has decided to modify and overhaul revaluation system. Till now students were required to apply for photocopies of answersheets and usually there was lot of delay in declaration of results, often leading to frictions. Now there is a reason to smile for these students as they will get scanned copies of answersheets on their personal email ids. Not only that but if the students apply for challenge to valuation, the same scanned copies will be made available for the valuers to do fresh valuation. The unique feature of on-line valuation is that the computer does not respond if the valuation is incomplete so valuer has to do it compulsarily and there are less chances of students getting less marks due to unchecked questions.
If the students do not want to go for photocopies or scanned answersheets and directly demand revaluation, it will be done. RTMNU will create in-house facility or do it through outsourcing. Recently a group of Engineering colleges met Vice-Chancellor Dr Vilas Sapkal and expressed their concern over the degradation of engineering faculty and offered the help to bring improvement in examination and result system of engineering.
